I LOVE CHRISTMAS!! It’s the one time of year that I feel at peace with the world around me. 🙂 There’s so many negative things going on, what with the discrimination and misunderstandings plaguing our lives, but Christmas is special. We celebrate the One who gave His life and brought us all together. He lived and died, and now lives again. Because of Him, we will one day have Peace on Earth. I am invigorated by that thought.
Now, lately, I’ve been feeling a bit of apathy toward a lot of things. Instead of focusing on how I’ve truly felt, I tended to focus on what I should feel, or what emotion I should show the people around me. It’s been really difficult to decipher, and it’s caused me in some cases not to exhibit emotion at all. And what’s worse is that the apathy was starting to seep into how I felt about Christmas too.
But then I watched the Christmas Devotional that my church broadcasted yesterday. It was full of beautiful Christmas lights and display, the music in the broadcast was exceptional (as always), and the speakers who spoke in the devotional were inspired. It brought back the child inside me.
This is our second Christmas as a couple, and our first Christmas as parents. Money is tight, but our extended families are all doing gift exchanges. We’ll be celebrating Christmas with my husband’s family. I suppose it’ll start early in the morning, but it seems a little crowded (not in a bad way). We spent our first Christmas just the two of us, so to help us have a little special time for just our family, we’re going to have our own little gift exchange in our room before coming out to be with the whole family. It’ll be our little Christmas as a family. I don’t know what I’ll get my husband this year, but the thought is absolutely thrilling! (I get to go Christmas shopping for my BELOVED HUSBAND!!! XD)
We’re sending gifts to family members across the country this year too. 🙂 We used a secret Santa website, so our names were drawn at random, on my side of the family. It’s sure to be a wonderful Christmas this year, too. Magic and everything!
Happy Christmas everyone! Oh! And here’s our Christmas card this year. I hope you like it! Our girl is the superstar!
